Monroeville JH girls repeat as FC champions

MONROEVILLE — The host Monroeville junior high girls' track and field team repeated as champions on Tuesday at the Firelands Conference championships. The Eagles scored 130.5 points to finish comfortably ahead of Crestview's 111.5. South Central (91.25) placed third. Event winners for the Eagles included Madison Schafer in the 100-meter dash (14.3 seconds), Reagan Schafer in the 200 (29.4), Kinsey Schafer in the high jump (five feet), and Addie Dahm in the shot put (34 feet, 7.5 inches). The 4x200 relay also took first for the Eagles in 1:57.8. Also for Monroeville, Mary Snook was second in the discus throw (76 feet, 2 inches) and the shot put (28 feet, 9.5 inches), as was Madison Schafer in the long jump (13 feet, 6 inches). Placing third for the Eagles was Kinsey Schafer in the 400 (1:11.2) and Reagan Schafer in the high jump (4 feet, 4 inches). Earning fourth for Monroeville included Annaka Ruggles in the 1600 (6:36.2). Margaret Herring was fourth in the 100 hurdles (19.3) and 200 hurdles (34.3), and Dahm was as well in the discus (72 feet). For South Central, Bristol Hauler won the long jump (14 feet, 1.5 inches), while Ella Sweeting was second in both the 100 hurdles (18.6) and 200 hurdles (32.9). Also placing second was Anneliese Barajas Larios in the 800 in 2:54.2, while teammate Aubree Bergstedt was behind her in third (2:57.4). Barajas Larios was also third in the 1600 (6:34.2). The 4x100 relay (58.4) was also second for the Trojans, and both the 4x200 (2:07.5) and the 4x400 teams placed third (5:23). Brynlee Bergsedt was also fourth for South Central in the 100 (14.7). Jia Collins won the 400 dash for St. Paul in 1:09.2, while teammate Anna Fries was second in the 200 (29.6) and fourth in the long jump (13 feet, 1.25 inches). The 4x800 relay for the Flyers also finished second (12:51.7). For Western, the 4x100 relay took first in 57.2 seconds. Ava Stevenson in the 100 (14.6) and Adalyn Wyant in the 200 (30.6) each placed third, while Lily Welch was fourth in the high jump (4 feet, 4 inches). New London's Kimber Howell in the 1600 (6:31.7) and Ireland Pelham in the pole vault (6 feet, 6 inches) each finished second, as did the 4x400 relay team in 5:12.5. Plymouth's Baylee DeCapio was third in the discus throw (75 feet, 6 inches). Crestview won the boys' meet with 133.5 points, just ahead of the Trojans, who totaled 121 points. New London was third with 103.5 points. Isaac Lamoreaux won the 110 hurdles (17.7) and 200 hurdles (28.3) for the Trojans. He was also second in the long jump (17 feet, 3.75 inches). Zach Fidler won the 400 in 57.4 seconds and was fourth in the 200 (26.7). Rodrigo Lopez was second in the 1600 (5:10.5) and third in the 800 (2:29.2) for the Trojans. Karson Lucal was third in the pole vault (eight feet), while Luke Albright was fourth in the discus (105 feet, 1 inch) and the shot put (32 feet, 8.5 inches), as was Dalton Knoll in the 100 (13.3 seconds). Also for the Trojans, the 4x100 (54.3), the 4x400 (4:21.5), and the 4x800 (10:40.3) relay teams each placed second. The Trojans' 4x200 was fourth in 1:58.3. New London's Brady Thomas won the shot put (39 feet, 9.25 inches) and was third in the discus (105 feet, 2 inches). Tanner Chandley was second in the pole vault (8 feet, 6 inches). Also for the Wildcats, Isaac Mitchell was third in the 110 hurdles (20.6) and fourth in the 200 hurdles (32.6), while Gideon Griffits was third in the 400 (1:01.2), as was Terry Malcom in the 1600 (5:25.7) and Nicholi Yoxtheimer in the long jump (15 feet, 7.25 inches). New London also won the 4x400 (4:18.5) and placed third in the 4x200 (1:56.7) and the 4x800 (11:02.5). St. Paul won the 4x200 in 1:50.9, while Blake Van Dresser was second in the shot put (35 feet, 3 inches), and Mikey Stieber was second in the discus (108 feet, 4 inches) and third in the 100 (13.2). Eli Schwan was third for the Flyers in the high jump (five feet), and the 4x100 team finished fourth (55.4). Western Reserve's Derek Keith won the discus (110 feet, 7 inches) and placed third in the shot put (32 feet, 9 inches). Campton Meagro was third in the 200 hurdles (32.1) and fourth in the long jump (14 feet, 4 inches). Also for Western, the 4x200 relay team placed second (1:53.5). Plymouth's TJ Tucker in the 800 (2:26.5) and Liam Means in the high jump (5 feet, 4 inches) each placed second. Myles Hicks was fourth for the Big Red in the 110 hurdles (21.2). Monroeville's Brodi Bores placed fourth in the 800 in 2:29.8.
