Western Reserve sweeps FC tri-meet

COLLINS — Host Western Reserve topped Monroeville and New London in a Firelands Conference tri-meet on Tuesday at Bachelder Field. The Roughriders scored 79 points to New London's 66 and Monroeville's 20 in the boys meet. Event winners for Western included Hayden Keith in both the discus throw (164 feet 2 inches) and the shot put (57 feet, 1.5 inches). Chase Hipp won the high jump (5 feet 10 inches), and James Weisenberger won the long jump (18 feet 3 inches). Also for Western, Xzavian Meagrow won the 100-meter dash in 11.9 seconds, and Lucas Summerfield won the 300 hurdles (45.7). Jaxon Dalton claimed the win in the 3200 (12:44.2). In relays, Western won the 4x100 (47.5), the 4x200 (1:40.7), and the 4x400 (3:50.5). Tate Mitchell won both the 110 hurdles (18.3) and the pole vault (12 feet 6 inches) for New London. Carter Hicks also won both the 800 (2:13.9) and the 1600 (4:48.8). Also for NL, Ryan Twining won the 200 (24.97), and the 4x800 posted the top time in 10:06.7. Monroeville's Dylan Ringer won the 400 in 57.37 seconds. In the girls meet, Western scored 70 points, followed by New London (44) and Monroeville (32). Multiple event winners for the 'Riders included Maddy Loyer in the 100 (13.8) and 200 (28.8) and Imani Bizzell in the discus (98 feet, 0.5 inches) and the shot put (32 feet, 4.5 inches). Kara Woodruff took first in the 400 (1:05.4), and Audree Jackson cleared five feet in the high jump. In relays, Western won the 4x100 (55.1), the 4x200 (1:56.7), and the 4x400 (4:39.8). Valery Henry won both the 800 (2:35.1) and the 1600 (5:53.3) for New London. Leah Willis won the 3200 (16:11.8), and Raeann Mitchell won the pole vault (10 feet), while the 4x800 relay had the top time in 13:24.1. For Monroeville, Kaylee Roeder won the 100 hurdles (19.5), and Payton Weilnau won the long jump (15 feet, 2 inches).
