Western baseball, softball tops Open Door

COLLINS — The Western Reserve softball team won for a third time in its last four games with Monday's 10-0 non-league win in five innings. Maylee Wetzel did it all for the Roughriders (3-9). She finished 3 for 4 with three RBIs and scored three times at the plate. In the circle, she pitched a five-hitter with seven strikeouts and one walk over the five innings. Also for Western, Makayla Case was 2 for 4 with a pair of RBIs, while Zoey Rhods was 2 for 4 with an RBI and scored three times.
