Western holds off NL for second straight win

COLLINS — The Western Reserve softball team won its second straight game with Thursday's 5-3 win over New London in Firelands Conference play. Layken Barnhart went all seven innings for the Roughriders (2-8, 2-5). She struck out four with no walks and allowed three earned runs on 13 hits. At the plate, Mackenzy Cook was 3 for 3 with an RBI, while McKenna Malson was 2 for 3 with two RBIs. For New London (6-9, 2-5), Pailee Wilson was 2 for 4 with an RBI, and Addison Yetter was 2 for 4.
