Clyde edges Norwalk to take control of Lake

NORWALK — The Norwalk boys tennis team was edged by visiting Clyde in a matchup for first place in the SBC Lake Division on Tuesday. The Fliers (9-1, 7-0) won at both doubles positions along with first singles to beat the Truckers (5-5, 4-2). Aric Kauble won for Clyde over Jeremiah McCreary at first singles (6-2, 6-4). Norwalk won the next two singles matches, with Roman Snyder beating Connor Eastby (6-3, 6-0), and Jacob Berger beating Alex Barrett (6-2, 6-2). At first doubles, Norwalk's Edward Ramos Cruz and Jack Pittenger fell to Chase Castle and Oscar Webb (6-1, 6-1). Levi Dickerson and Carter Swick lost to Cole Sengstock and Trenton Brown (4-6, 6-1, 6-0) at second doubles. The Truckers visit Sandusky on Thursday and host the SBC Lake individual tournament on Saturday. At first singles, Levi Schag beat Adin Colbert (6-2, 6-3), while Mason Dawson (6-2, 6-2) beat Kaden Mees and Phebe Schag topped Mary Moon (6-1, 6-0) at third singles for Willard. The first doubles team of Jaxson Hall and Lucas Winans topped Wade Ruggles and Kellyn Ritchie (6-1, 6-2). At second doubles, Gavin Warner and Owen Shepherd beat Jace Pinkston and Oz Rutger (6-1, 6-3).
