Norwalk routs Harding for non-league win

NORWALK — The Norwalk softball team scored 10 times in the bottom of the fourth inning in Monday's 16-3 non-league win in five innings over visiting Marion Harding. The Truckers (4-8) had 11 hits in the victory. Reagan Mooney was 3 for 4 with a double and drove in four, while Maddie Gamble was 3 for 3 with a double and scored four times. Alexis Dellisanti singled with three RBIs, and Caymen Mercer singled and drove in two. Scarlet Schneider added a single and an RBI. Sophia Ames went all five innings for the pitching win. She allowed three earned runs on five hits with five strikeouts and three walks. Norwalk hosts Bellevue in an SBC Lake Division game on Monday. M. She allowed two earned runs on five hits with nine strikeouts and three walks over seven innings. Also for the Flyers, Bella Guerra was 2 for 4 with a double and scored twice. Ryleigh Mansfield-Bush added a single and an RBI. For South Central (5-7, 2-3), Izabella Branham hit a home run and drove in a pair, while Sydnee Middaugh had two hits. She allowed an unearned run on two hits with 15 strikeouts and no walks. For Western (0-8, 0-5), Mayle Wetzel doubled and had both hits. Layken Barnhart took the loss.
