EDISON • The Berlin Heights Kiwanis announced Ezri Rutger as the April Student of the Month at Edison High School. Rutger's activities and achievements: Varsity Cheer (captain, Most Spirited, UCA All America, UCA "Pin It Forward" Award, four-year varsity award, competition cheer); Chargerettes; Key Club vice-president; Interact Club co-president; National Honor Society treasurer; Spanish Club; Spanish Honor Society; Model UN; ROX; Sources of Strength; Student of the Quarter (Language Arts and EHOVE); class officer (secretary); All-Academic Award recipient; dance (Student Mentorship Award); and Climate Leaders Fellowship. Rutger plans to attend Ohio State University to study exercise science and eventually earn a doctorate of physical therapy. ST. PAUL HIGH SCHOOL • St. Paul High School announced the April 2026 Kiwanis Students of the Month. - Morgan Endsley's activities and achievements: National Honor Society, basketball, cheer, homecoming court, prom committee, class officer, parish ministry member, ACE Academic Award. - Kalandra Jordan's activities and achievements: National Honor Society, ACE Academic Award, flag corps, cheer and marching band. FIRELANDS ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE • Firelands Electric Cooperative announced four local winners of the Ohio's Electric Cooperatives Children of Employees and Trustees scholarship. Funding from the scholarship program comes from Ohio's Electric Cooperatives and the Ohio Line Supervisors Association. Eligible applicants for the scholarship include children of employees and trustees from Ohio Electric Cooperative's affiliates and Firelands Electric. Applicants were measured on academic achievement, leadership and community involvement. This year's total was $44,600 awarded to 21 high school seniors across the state. Local winners include: - Izzy Lucha, South Central High School senior, won $3,400 - Pailee Wilson, New London High School senior, won $3,000 - Paiton Shepherd, New London High School senior, won $2,500 - Emilee Loescher, New London High School senior, won $1,000
