Norwalk tennis edges Sandusky, Columbian

NORWALK — The Norwalk boys tennis team edged visiting Sandusky for a 3-2 win in SBC Lake Division play on Monday. The Truckers (3-3, 2-1) won both doubles positions and first singles in the win. Jeremiah McCreary won at first singles over Blake Ott (6-0, 6-2), while the first doubles team of Edward Ramos and Jack Pittenger beat Liam Chamberlain and Ian Stiner (6-3, 6-0). At second doubles, Levi DIckerson and Jacob Burger beat Zeke Cutcher and Sam Milas (6-1, 6-0). Also for Norwalk, Roman Snyder lost at second singles to Brady Mullins (4-6, 6-2, 10-7), and Carter Swick lost at third singles to Ishan Chopra (6-2, 6-1). Norwalk 3, Columbian 2 TIFFIN — The Truckers (4-3, 3-1) won the first two singles spots in Tuesday's SBC Lake win over the host Tornadoes. At first singles, McCreary beat Dravyn Dicken (6-1, 6-3), then Snyder topped Liam Randell at second singles (6-2, 6-2). Columbian's Parker Nye beat Carter Swick (6-0, 6-4) at third singles. The first doubles team of Ramos and Pittenger beat Brock Siesel and Brady Miller (6-4, 6-2). At second doubles, Levi Dickerson and Jacob Burger fell to Grant Blonde and Jarrett Jaeck (6-3, 4-6, 6-2). Norwalk will hst Tiffin Calvert on Wednesday. The Truckers then visit Bellevue Thursday ahead of the Norwalk invite on Saturday. Port Clinton 3, Edison 1 PORT CLINTON — The Chargers got the win at first singles in Monday's SBC Bay loss to the Redskins. Adin Colbert won for Edison over Kai Weit (6-0, injury default). Kaden Mees lost at second singles to Charley Kruse (6-2, 6-3), while Mary Moon fell at third singles to Payton Wadsworth (6-1, 6-1). Wade Ruggles and Kellyn Ritchie fell at first doubles to Evan Lovitt and Zach Speer (6-1, 6-1), and the second tandem of Jace Pinkston and Oz Rutger lost to Alex DeFreitas/Aero Wymer (6-2, 6-4). Edison 5, Huron 0 HURON — The Chargers swept the Tigers for an SBC Bay Division won on Tuesday. Colbert swept Joey Cencer at first singles (6-0, 6-0), while Mees defeated Josh Seward (6-4, 6-3) and Moon beat Georgie Dunlap (3-6, 6-3, 10-7) at third singles. The first doubles team of Ruggles and Ritchie beat Tyler Goretzki and David Russell (6-1, 6-0). At second doubles, Pinkston and Rutger beat Sean Newcomer and Zackery Kuhl (6-2, 6-0).
