South Central girls second at Ridgedale

MORRAL — The South Central girls track and field team scored 142 points to finish second among nine teams at the Ridgedale Invitational on Saturday. Rittman won the team title with 181.5 points. The Trojans were sixth among nine teams in the boys standings. Lauren Ingram won the high jump (five feet) and placed third in the long jump (13 feet-9) for the Trojans. Falynn Schumacher took first in the 200 (27.9) and was third in the pole vault (9 feet 6 inches), while Kaili Ingram also won the long jump at 14 feet 1.5 inches. Autumn Fry was second in the 200 dash (13.29) and the discus (106 feet 3 inches) and also placed third in the shot put (33 feet 0.25 inches) and fourth in the 200 (28.88). Also for the Trojans, Emily Lamoreaux was second in the 100 hurdles (18.0) and third in the 300 hurdles (52.77), while Taylor Smith was second in the pole vault (9 feet-6). Ady Stevens in the 400 (1:09.63) and Kenlea Blair in the shot put (30 feet 5 inches) each placed fourth, while Izzy Lucha was sixth in the discus (82 feet 8 inches). In relays, the 4x200 took first in 1:54.42, while the 4x400 (4:30.76) and the 4x800 (11:28.9) both placed second. For the South Central boys, Lucas Kilgore was fifth in the 110 hurdles (19.47), the 300 hurdles (46.36), the long jump (16 feet 0.5 inches), and the pole vault (8 feet 6 inches). Lucas Smith was second in the shot put (40 feet 8.5 inches) and eighth in the discus (97 feet -8 inches). Dean Kirk also placed fourth in the 400 (56.38) and seventh in the 200 (25.88). South Central and New London head to Mapleton for a Firelands Conference tai-meet on Tuesday. Two for Norwalk place first LEXINGTON — The Norwalk track and field team had a pair of individual winners on Saturday at the Lexington Invitational. Elliot Gahring won the 100-meter dash in 11.25 seconds and was second in the 400 in 49.14 seconds. Grace Norris also won the 400 dash in 57.70 seconds. Also for Norwalk, Xavi Immel was fourth in the 800 in 2:18.71, while Adyson Lepley was fourth in the pole vault after clearing 8 feet 6 inches, as was Libby Lark in the shot put (33 feet-6.25). Kinleigh Lesch in the discus (100 feet -5 inches) and Isaak White in the pole vault (12 feet -6 inches) each placed sixth, while Dylan Eggleston in the 300 hurdles (43.52) and Noah Jameson in the long jump (19 feet -4 inches) both finished eighth. Norwalk returns to action next Saturday (April 18) at the Edison Invitational in Milan. St. Paul girls place fifth SHELBY — The Flyers scored 58 points at the 10-team Shelby Invitational on Saturday to place fifth in the team standings. Deanna Vazquez placed second in the 200 in 26.97 seconds for St. Paul, and she was the anchor on the 4x400 relay of Frances Donnelly, Jenny Schwan, and Amelia Stoll that also placed second in 4:28.41. Finishing third for St. Paul was the 4x100 relay of Aubrie Van Dresser, Alivia Burger, Stoll, and Kira Sandor in 55.78 seconds, and the 4x200 team of Sandor, Van Dresser, Aubrie Bogard, and Vazquez in 1:56.3. Schwan was fourth in the 800 (2:44.99), Stoll was fifth in the 100 (13.81), and Sandor was fifth in the long jump (14 feet). Also for the St. Paul girls, Donnelly was seventh in the 400 (1:08.8), as was Bogard in the high jump (4 feet 5 inches). Jessica Matlack was fourth in the shot put (28 feet-7.5) and seventh in the discus (79 feet-7), while Kate Ware was fifth in the 3200 (14:19.4) and seventh in the 1600 (6:21.67). On the boys side, Adam Dowdell was second in the 800 in 2:08.13. Levi Rospert was sixth in the 200 (24.84) and seventh in the 100 (11.93), while Cam Coetzee was sixth in the shot put (40 feet 1.75 inches), and Everett Beal was seventh in the long jump (17 feet 8.5 inches). In relays, the 4x200 team of Beal, Joey Alt, Wyatt Houser, and Rospert finished fifth (1:38.53). The 4x100 of Vinny Caizzo, Nick Pocos, Hunter Springer, and Houser took sixth (47.71), as did the 4x400 of Owen Thimke, Dowdell, Hudson Davis, and Alt in 3:54.38. St. Paul heads to Monroeville on Tuesday for a Firelands Conference dual meet and then will also compete at the Edison Invite on Saturday. Three compete at Hybrid meet CLYDE — The trio of Edison, Monroeville, and Western Reserve track teams competed in the hybrid meet hosted by Clyde on Friday. The Edison boys placed sixth among 12 teams, while the Western girls were sixth out of 11 schools. Chase Horn won the long jump for Monroeville at 19 feet 6.5, while the 4x100 relay took first in 51.92 seconds. Brycen Dunlap was third in the shot put (46 feet 11 inches) and sixth in the discus (122 feet 5 inches) for the Eagles. Payton Weilnau was second in the long jump (15 feet 3.5 inches), as was Kaylee Roeder in the pole vault (8 feet 6 inches). Sophia Stieber was fourth in the long jump (14 feet 6.75 inches). For Western, Kayden Keith won the shot put (51 feet 3 inches) and placed seventh in the discus (120 feet). Chase Hipp was second in the high jump (5 feet 10 inches), while James Weisenberger was sixth in the long jump (18 feet 4 inches), and Lucas Summerfield was seventh in the 300 hurdles (46.44). In relays, the 4x100 was third in 53.15 seconds, and the 4x200 team was fifth in 1:37.33. For the Roughrider girls, Aubree Zunis won the high jump (4 feet 8). Leigha Osborn in the 300 hurdles (54.03) and Imani Bizzell in the discus (89 feet 7 inches) each placed sixth, while Emma Hammond was seventh in the shot put (29 feet 1 inch). Also for Western, the 1600 distance relay placed second (4:39.15), and the 4x100 team was fourth (1:04.43). Edison's Colin Butler was third in the 300 hurdles (42.37), and Trevor Leimeister was fourth in the 100 in 11.42 seconds. Austin Peck was fifth in the pole vault (10 feet), while Dylan Smith was sixth in the shot put (37 feet 10 inches) and eighth in the discus (118 feet 9 inches). In relays, the Edison boys were third in the 1600 distance (3:59.23) and fourth in both the 4x100 (53.43) and 4x800 (9:24.13). Harper Salmons was second in the pole vault for the Edison girls at 8 feet 6 inches, while Claire Michaelis was seventh in the 100 (13.65). The 4x100 relay was second in 1:01.88. TENNIS Norwalk sixth at Doubles tourney PERKINS TWP. — The Trucker boys finished sixth among eight teams on Saturday at the Perkins Doubles Invitational. Two teams finished fourth for Norwalk, including the No. 3 pairing of Levi Dickerson and Jacob Burger. They won their first match against St. Mary Central Catholic's Mason Russel and Carter Snyder, 9-5, then lost in their second match against Ashland's Brady Anderson and Nate Watson. Dickerson and Burger then fell in their third-place match to Bowling Green's Victor Virgolici and Tomas Bes Sanz, 8-3. At No. 4 doubles, Andrew Klett and Adrian Martinez opened with a win over Perkins' Logan Coley and SMCC's Mason McCune, 9-8 (7-5). They fell to Ashland's Mark Cyders and Charlie Hovey, 9-0), and lost in the third-place match to Mayfield's Colin Hawkin and Ram Somarouthu, 8-3. The No. 1 doubles tandem of Jeremiah McCreary and Roman Snyder lost to Clyde's Aric Kauble and Chase Castle (9-3) and Bowling Green's Eric Jiang and Isac Naus (8-5). They finished with a win over Perkins' Aaron Benkraine and Preston Miller, 10-5. Lastly for Norwalk, which hosts Sandusky on Monday in league play, the No. 2 team of Edward Ramos and Jack Pittenger also went 1-2. They fell to Anthony Wayne's Reed Hahn and Will Rhodes (9-1, and Mayfield's Krish Punyam and Leland Miller. The pair bounced back to win against the host Pirates' Jaden Lyons and Hayden Wright, 10-4.
