St. Paul, Monroeville roll in FC victories

COLLINS — The St. Paul softball team scored 18 runs on 19 hits and didn't commit an error in the field in Monday's 18-5 win in five innings over host Western Reserve in the Firelands Conference opener for both teams. The Flyers (4-2, 1-0) were paced by Mallorie Sowers, as the junior finished 3 for 3 with a pair off home runs. She drove in six runs and scored three times in the win. Ella Kalizewski was 4 for 4 with a double and drove in four, while Bella Guerra was 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs. Also for St. Paul, Ryleigh Mansfield-Bush was 2 for 4 with an RBI, while her older sibling, Taegan, was 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs. Kegney Stoll was also 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs, while Payton Preston had two hits, and Addy Rospert singled with an RBI. Guerra allowed five earned runs on five hits with four strikeouts in the five-inning win in the circle. Western (0-2, 0-1) got a triple and two RBIs from Lilli Jarrett in the loss. Madi Reiber was 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs, and Taylor Scheid was 3 for 4 with a double and drove in three. Also for the Eagles, McKenna Payton was 2 for 3 with two RBIs.
