SBC Bay trio named All-Ohio

COLUMBUS — Three Sandusky Bay Conference Bay Division standouts were listed among the state's best on Wednesday. The Division V All-Ohio teams were released by the Ohio Prep Sports Media Association. Willard sophomore Jaxson Hall earned a spot on the second team, while Edison seniors Coltyn Meagrow and Cole Leimeister were both honorable mention. Hall averaged 21.5 points, 4.3 assists, and 2.2 steals per game during the regular season for Willard. He also shot 54 percent from the field for the Crimson Flashes. Willard finished 18-5 overall (8-2 SBC Bay), which tied the third-most wins in a regular season over the past 20 years for the program. Leimeister averaged 20.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per contest for the Chargers (11-13, 2-8). He finished with 1,023 career points and is the program record holder for career three-pointers. Meagrow averaged 18.1 points and 8.7 rebounds per game this season and finished with more than 850 points and 440 rebounds in his career for Edison. Mr. Basketball finalist Jason Singleton from Columbus Academy was the Player of the Year in the division. The 6-4 guard and Harvard University commit led his team to consecutive state championship games, where it fell both times to Cleveland Heights Lutheran East. Singleton averaged 21.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 3.7 steals per game while shooting 51 percent from the field (31 from 3-point range with 40 made) for CA (24-5). A four-year starter with over 1,400 career points, Singleton has helped the Vikings to a 95-14 record during that span. There were two Coach of the Year winners in Black River's Kyle Dack and Ironton's Drew Stevens. Dack guided the Pirates to their first winning season in 17 years, and just the fourth in 58 years while winning a tournament game for the first time in 16 years. The team's 14 wins were tied for the most in a season since 1965, which was done with four sophomores and a freshman among the top seven players in the game rotation. In his first year at Ironton, Stevens helped Ironton to a 23-2 record and a 45-42 loss to West Muskingum in a regional championship game.
