New London's Thomas is HM All-Ohio

COLUMBUS — After helping his team to a dramatic turnaround this season, New London freshman Henry Thomas was listed among the state's best. The Ohio Prep Sports Media Association released its Division VI All-Ohio teams on Wednesday. Thomas, a 5-foot-10 guard, earned a spot on the honorable mention list in the division. Thomas averaged 15.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.8 steals per game this season. Thomas shot 45 percent from the field, which included 45 made 3-pointers, for the Wildcats. New London finished 13-9 overall and 7-7 in the Firelands Conference this season. That was a huge turnaround from the previous five seasons. From 2021 to 2025, New London was just 10-101 overall and 5-65 in the FC during that stretch. For the second straight year, New Madison Tri-Village star Trey Sagester was the Player of the Year in the division. The 6-3 guard averaged 25.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 3.6 steals per game this season in lead his team to a 26-1 record and a regional runner-up trophy. Tri-Village won four straight district titles with Sagester, who was also a Mr. Basketball finalist. The Patriots won 95 games during his four seasons, which saw Sagester score 2,081 career points. Coach of the Year honors went to Portsmouth West's Caleb McClanahan. West (19-7) shared the Southern Ohio Conference III championship and won a district championship for the first time since 1985.
