Caprara, Frado move up ranks in Norwalk Fire Department

NORWALK — Norwalk fire recently promoted two members of its ranks, elevating Lt. Craig Caprara to captain and Firefighter Michael Frado to lieutenant. Caprara joined the department in 2012. Prior to that, he served as a full-time member of Perkins fire. Norwalk fire Chief Dan Strayer said Caprara's experience and leadership made him a strong choice for the role. "He is one of our paramedics and he is a certified instructor," Strayer said. "He moved up through the ranks, he has strong leadership. He is going to do well for us in this position." Caprara lives in Norwalk with his wife and their three daughters. Frado earned his promotion after testing above five other candidates within the department, according to Strayer. He was hired by Norwalk fire in 2016. Before coming to Norwalk, Frado served with the Margaretta Township and Willard fire departments. Frado lives in Norwalk with his wife and three sons. Strayer expressed confidence in Frado's transition into leadership. "He is going to be a great lieutenant and I know he is going to do well," Strayer said. The promotions fill leadership roles within the department and take effect immediately, according to Strayer.
