Hall, Meagrow earn Bay first team

Two area boys basketball players earned All-Sandusky Bay Conference Bay Division first team honors, the league announced on Feb. 17. Willard sophomore Jaxson Hall was the lone underclassman on the first team and was one of three unanimous selections. Hall entered the final two games of the regular season this week averaging 21.5 points, three rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 2.2 steals per game for the Flashes (17-3, 8-2). He was shooting 62 percent on two-pointers. Also earning first-team honors was Edison senior Coltyn Meagrow. He entered Wednesday's regular season finale vs. Monroeville averaging 18.3 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks per contest for the Chargers (10-11, 2-8). Another pair of seniors were second-team selections for the Crimson Flashes and Chargers in Mason Dawson and Cole Leimeister. Dawson entered this week averaging 12.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game for Willard. Leimeister is averaging 20.4 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per contest. Willard freshman JJ Bedingfield (11.3 points, 3.4 rebounds) also earned honorable mention for the Flashes. Ranked No. 14 in Div. V, the Flashes host Bellevue (12-8) on Friday to close out the regular season before entertaining Findlay Liberty-Benton (14-7) at 7 p.m. Feb. 27 in a sectional title game. After Wednesday, Edison heads to Oak Harbor (8-13) for a Div. V sectional semifinal at 6 p.m. on Feb. 25. The winner then heads to Margaretta for the title game two days later. Margaretta's Julian Washington, an NCAA Div. I University of Dayton commit, was the Bay's Most Outstanding Performer. He is averaging 25.3 points, 6.1 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and three steals for the Div. V No. 3-ranked Polar Bears (18-3, 10-0).
