Norwalk routs Perkins to finish regular season

PERKINS TWP. — The Norwalk girls basketball team finished out the regular season with a 60-29 win in SBC Lake Division play at Perkins on Wednesday night. The Truckers improved to 16-6 overall and finished with an 8-2 mark in the league. Emmie Leber led Norwalk with 20 points and six rebounds. Trinity Lazzara added 14, five rebounds, and four assists for the Truckers. Also for Norwalk, Alyssa Gruhlke had eight points and seven rebounds, while Delaney Illuzzi had seven points and four rebounds, and Jo Jackson added six points and six rebounds. Norwalk opens Division III tournament play next Thursday at home with a sectional title game against winless Mansfield Senior (0-19). Maverick Myers added 14 points for the Eagles, who improved to 13-5 overall with the win. Derek Ackerman finished with 11, and Link Schaffer-Paull added nine points. The first-place Eagles host Mapleton (2-16, 0-12) Friday in a Firelands Conference game.
