Norwalk library spotlights Feb. programs

NORWALK — The Norwalk Public Library will offer a variety of programs for all ages in February. Note: The library will be closed Monday, Feb. 16, for Presidents Day. Here are some featured events with excerpts provided by the library: • Homemade Chocolate Bars: 6-7 p.m. on Monday — "Participants will learn how to make and wrap homemade chocolate bars." • Kids in the Kitchen: 4:30-5:30 p.m. on Tuesday — "Students in grades 1-5 will learn how to prepare twice-baked potatoes in this hands-on cooking class." • Storytime: 10:30-11 a.m. on various Thursdays — Feb. 5, 12, 19 and 26 — "A weekly program for children up to 5 that encourages early literacy through books, songs and rhymes." • Preschool Roundup: 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 12 — "Children ages 2-5 and their caregivers are invited to explore local preschool options and early childhood resources." • PotatOlympics: 6-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 19 — "Open to all ages, this Winter Olympics-themed event features potato car races, a potato ski jump competition and potato-themed hors d'oeuvres. Potato race car kits are available for pickup at the library Feb. 11-18." Additional February offerings include teen and adult cooking classes, baby storytimes, music and movement sessions, book clubs, craft programs and family story events.
