Salvation Army wraps up Red Kettle Campaign

NORWALK — The Salvation Army of Norwalk has concluded its 2025 Red Kettle Campaign, providing holiday assistance to hundreds of local families with the help of community donations and volunteers. The campaign supplied holiday food boxes to 275 families and toys through its Angel Tree program to 463 children during the Christmas season, according to a news release from the organization. Salvation Army Lt. Alex Dressler said the campaign's success was the result of widespread community support. "We thank all those throughout the Norwalk area for their continued support of our work and mission each holiday season," Alex Dressler said. He emphasized that donations bring to families facing financial difficulties: "Every dollar donated brings hope to others facing hardships. The Salvation Army throughout the Norwalk area is focused on meeting human needs to ensure life is better for our friends and neighbors." Dressler and his wife, Salvation Army Lt. McKenzie Dressler, expressed appreciation to donors, volunteers, staff and clients who participated in the campaign, as well as several local businesses that served as kettle sponsors. Those sponsors included Lake Erie Construction, Battles Insurance Company, Don Tester Ford, Chicago Title Agency, Norwalk Concrete Industries, Seitz Design and Construction, Reta Stark and Oglesby Construction. The organization also recognized Berry's Restaurant for preparing and providing a meal for 40 individuals who rely on the Salvation Army's soup kitchen. The soup kitchen is open from 11 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The food pantry operates from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday, and office hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
