Norwalk company sold

NORWALK — A Norwalk-based manufacturer announced this week that it had been purchased by an Ohio company. In a joint news release, Solid Dimensions announced its sale to by E.P. Gerber & Sons Company. E.P. Gerber is based in Kirdon in Wayne County, Ohio, about 20 miles southwest of Canton. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Solid Dimensions, founded in 1994, manufactures "American-made wooden promotional and gift products," according to the release. Company officials said the acquisition is intended to support continued growth and expansion of the Solid Dimensions product line by providing access to additional resources and manufacturing sites, as well as E.P. Gerber & Sons' experience in wood products manufacturing. "This is an exciting next step for us," said Tim Parcher, co-founder of Solid Dimensions. He said the companies share similar goals related to quality, affordability, and U.S.-based manufacturing, and that the acquisition will expand capacity and add skilled craftsmen to the Solid Dimensions team. Kyle Simmons, president and CEO of E.P. Gerber & Sons, said the company values the foundation built by Solid Dimensions over the past three decades and cited shared business values as a key factor in the acquisition. Under the agreement, Parcher will continue as general manager of the promotional products division to oversee the transition. He plans to retire after a leadership team is fully established. Solid Dimensions has operated in the promotional products industry for more than 30 years. E.P. Gerber & Sons, founded in 1901, is a vertically integrated wood products manufacturer serving residential, commercial, and industrial markets, according to the release.
