Dynasty Lanes raises funds for BVL

WILLARD — Dynasty Lanes and its bowlers raised $174 on Veteran's Day (Nov. 11) with its annual Bowlers to Veterans Link tournament in Willard. Taking first place was the team of Lydia McQuillen and Aiden Biggert, while second place went to Jayson Bruner and Tana Wolfe. McQuillen and Biggert's six-game total was 1,576 while Bruner and Wolfe totaled 1,504. Dynasty Lanes donates half of the portion paid for the bowling to the BVL on top of 50/50 raffles and soldier pins that can be purchased by the bowlers to add to the total donation. Also at Dynasty Lanes, a BVL fundraiser tournament was held on Labor Day (Sept. 1). The tournament raised another $124 for a grand total of $8,220 since the facility has been running BVL events. First place was Gavin Howery and Greg Brooks, while second place went to Diana Lake and Louis Lynch. The 50/50 raffle winner was Keith Pope. "Congratulations to our money winners and a thank you to everyone who participated in the tournaments," said Lewis Sims from Dynasty Lanes. ".A special thank you to our veterans who bowled, Diana Lake and Greg Brooks." The next tournament will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Pearl Harbor Day (Dec. 7) BVL is bowling's own and oldest charity, raising more than $57 million since 1942 to fund recreation therapy programs that address the emotional and physical needs of veterans and active-duty military, including sports, music, crafts, technology, and adaptive equipment for rehabilitation activities. High school fundraiser On Sunday, Dynasty Lanes also hosted the second annual Willard High School bowling alumni fundraiser tournament, which raised $442. Charlie Arnold took first place with a 628, followed by Carissa Metcalfe (671) and Lewis Sims (659). Tana Wolfe (613) and Steve Chambers (569) and Kya Hammns (569) were fourth and tied for fifth, respectively. Rounding out the 13 placers were Steve Schaaf (550), Mason Hunt (548), Jayson Bruner (548), Erica Barclay (547), Spencer Tuttle (532), Chad Herner (521), and Alex Lillo (442).
