Celebration to spread holiday cheer, support local families

NORWALK — It's poised to be a festive holiday gathering inspired by the whimsical world of Dr. Seuss. The community is invited to attend the Whobilation Celebration from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 7 at the Huron County Fairgrounds, 940 Fair Road, Norwalk. This family-friendly event promises an afternoon of seasonal joy, entertainment and charitable giving. Guests will enjoy a variety of activities, including photos and storytime with Santa and the Grinch, carnival games, crafts, a bounce house, food trucks, live music, caricature drawings, face painting and a cookie and hot cocoa bar. Featured contests include the Ugly Sweater Contest and Cookie Eating Contest, with prizes awarded to winners. Proceeds from the Whobilation Celebration will benefit The Piggyback Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting families facing life-threatening illnesses. Since its founding in 2007, the foundation has worked to provide emotional, educational and physical assistance to children and families during times of medical crisis, helping them maintain a sense of joy.
