Visions Revealed comes to Norwalk

NORWALK — Artists' Open Studio will soon host its 21st annual art exhibit. Visions Revealed 2025 begins on Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Main Street Studio & Gallery, 32 East Main St. The show runs through Nov. 1, with an opening reception scheduled for Oct. 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The exhibit will feature work from more than 40 artists, ranging from longtime AOS participants to first-time contributors. Alongside the artwork, visitors will find raffle baskets, gift shop items, and refreshments throughout the reception. All purchases, including raffle tickets, directly benefit the studio's mission of providing paid work opportunities for artists with developmental disabilities. "This exhibit is the culmination of work from (the studio's) artists over this last year and we're really excited to showcase some really amazing artwork," said Lindsey Esker, executive director of Artists' Open Studio. "Over 40 artists have contributed to this exhibit including artists who have been with us for over 15 years to several new artists who just joined the studio this year." Celebrating inclusion through art Founded in 2004, Artists' Open Studio has focused on celebrating and honoring the creative achievements of individuals with developmental differences. The studio was created on the belief that art is for all, and that people with disabilities deserve full opportunities to work, live, and contribute to their communities, according to their website. "Uniquely expressive art results when artists work independently with the media of their choice and are encouraged by their fellow artists and facilitators," Esker said. "This is where the magic happens." At the studio, community members can expect to see artists: • Exercising self-determination during the creative process • Producing vibrant and original works of visual art • Building a collaborative community with fellow artists • Sharing their voices through local and statewide exhibits • Earning income through art sales Creating handmade merchandise in cooperation with CLI Inc.
