Groups get $22K in grants

Ten Huron County nonprofits received a combined total of nearly $22,000 in grant funding. The Huron County Community Foundation recently announced the recipients of its second round of grant funding for 2025. In all, $21,800 was distributed to the nonprofits. "Projects awarded fill critical needs, create opportunities for youth, and further contribute to our thriving community," a release from the community foundation states. "Huron County Community Foundation's Board of Directors identified priorities around the youth of the community, whether that be the food that nourishes them and their families or offering art and cultural experiences to expand their worldview." Here is a list of organizations that received funding, and the projects/purchases that will be funded through the grants: • Back to the Wild, Inc., commercial refrigerator for wildlife rehab and ambassador animals: $3,000 • Bellevue Schools, Projecting Possibilities: $2,000 • Bellevue Historical Society, Tremont House fire doors: $1,200 • Huron County Youth Soccer Club: fall soccer equipment: $1,600 • New London Ruritan Club, veterans banner program: $2,000 • Norwalk Arts Center, Norwalk Arts Center Teen Theatre 2026 musical rights: $1,000 • OHgo, Project Happy gifts: $3,000 • OhioGuidestone, Bringing Incredible Years to Huron County: $2,000 • Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio, Huron County food distributions: $5,000 • The Society, The Link Huron Project: $1,000
