Edison wraps up 6-0 mark in SBC Bay

HURON — Edison shot a 189 to win an SBC Bay shootout at Thunderbird Hills on Wednesday. The Chargers' Annabelle Seville shot a 37 to win medalist honors. Edison went 6-0 in the Bay matches this season. Three golfers — Huron's Ashtyn Spooner, Edison's Leah Sharp and Margaretta's Ellyse Schaefer — tied for second at 40. Also for Edison, Averi Wolf shot a 53, followed by Lilly Davis (59), Avery Thurston (62) and Navea Yamanouchi (67). Huron finished second in the team competition with a 203, one shot ahead of Margaretta and Willard. For Willard (204), Reese Bedingfield led the team with a 42. Emma Whitright was next with a 47, and she was followed by Aylinn Cuevas (54) and Ava Deel (61). Norwalk 201, Madison 235 NORWALK — In their final home dual match, the Truckers cruised past the Rams on Wednesday at Eagle Creek. Senior Emerson Ulery was the team's medalist with a 49. Classmate Evelyn Welschenbach one stroke behind her with a 50. Adyson Lepley and Catherine Beamer each shot 51s, while Allison Konik had a 61 and Chloe Stanford-Jones added a 63. Perkins wins Lake shootout NORWALK — Perkins' Ireland Hart shot a 39 to easily win medalist honors at a SBC Lake shootout at Eagle Creek golf course Perkins totaled a 185, followed by Clyde (201), Norwalk (205), Columbian (210) and Bellevue (211). Norwalk's Adyson Lepley and Emerson Ulery tied for third among all golfers with 48 scores. Also for the Truckers, Allison Konik finished with a 53. She was followed by Evelyn Welschenbach (56), Chloe Stanford-Jones (61) and Catherine Beamer (65). BOYS GOLF Madison 159, Norwalk 180 NORWALK — The Truckers fell to the Rams in their final dual match of the season on Wednesday at Eagle Creek. Cohen Shoop paced Norwalk with a 41. Emytt Graffice was next with a 43, followed by Caleb Thompson (48) and Avery Reitzel (48). New London 157, Mapleton 189 ASHLAND — The Wildcats (13-1, 8-1) cruised to a Firelands Conference win on Thursday at Brookside golf course. For New London, Brody Sword shot a 36 and Grady Heileman and Logan Sword each had 40s. Kade Detterman added a 41, followed by Easton Ball (48) and Presley Ferguson (52). New London will travel to Eagle Creek next Monday to take on St. Paul for the final match of the season. Willard second in Bay Shootout OXFORD TWP. — Another tight SBC Bay Shootout between Vermilion and Willard went the way of the Sailors on Thursday on the front nine holes at Wouisickett golf course. The Sailors shot a 158, followed by Willard with a 162. Margaretta (170), Huron (183), Edison (197) and Port Clinton (200) rounded out the team scoring. For Willard, Kaleb Weaver shot a 38, while Harrison Meisner had a 40. The trio of Mason Dawson, Isaac Frye and Jaxson Hall each shot 42s, while Adler Ames had a 44. The Chargers were led by Hayden Lewis with a 46. Brooks Ballah had a 49, and Tyler Pounds shot a 50. Rounding things out for Edison was Eli Hermes (52), Owen Price (53) and Mason Hermes (57). Norwalk fourth in Lake shootout NORWALK — Sam Cooper shot an even-par 36 to lead Bellevue to victory at a SBC Lake shootout at Eagle Creek Golf Club. Bellevue finished the nine-hole event with a 159, edging runner-up Perkins (163). Columbian was third at 174. Norwalk was fourth (180) and Clyde took fifth (184). BOYS SOCCER Edison 16, Clyde 0 MILAN — The Chargers cruised to an SBC win over the Fliers to improve to 7-0 overall and 4-0 in the league on Wednesday. GIRLS SOCCER Edison 2, Clyde 0 MILAN — The Chargers scored twice in the first half and made it stand in Wednesday's SBC win over the Fliers at Bolt Field. Sophie Baker got Edison on the scoreboard with a goal that was assisted by Kailyn Dickman ten minutes into the match. Kellyn Ritchie converted her second penalty kick of the season to increase the lead to 2 goals midway through the second half. Ella Rogers made eight saves for Edison (3-4-1, 3-2). The Chargers host Huron at 7 p.m. Monday. JUNIOR HIGH NMS eighth-grade tops TC NORWALK — The Norwalk Middle School eighth-grade volleyball team defeated Tiffin Columbian in two sets Wednesday in SBC Lake play. Norwalk posted scores of 25-21 and 25-16. Brynn Sellers and Stella Kipp set for Lilli Kipp and Kalli Oates, who each had six kills. Londynn Clifton had four and Laney Schlotterer added three. Sellers also had four digs, while Oates had three. Stella Kipp and Brynn Sellers were also 100 percent servers. The seventh and eighth-grade teams host Huron at 4:30 p.m. Monday.
