Norwalk tops Bellevue for Lake win

NORWALK — The Norwalk High School girls tennis team improved to 7-3 overall and 6-0 in the SBC Lake Division with Tuesday's SBC Lake sweep over visiting Bellevue. The match of the day came at second singles, as junior Addy Rospert outlasted Bellevue's Natalie Littlejohn in three sets, 5-7, 7-6 (2), 10-4. The match lasted two hours and 43 minutes. At first singles, Lydia Trost won for the Truckers over Emerson Snyder (6-2, 6-0). Third singles saw Leksi Jurkzuk win in two over Leah Hinojosa (6-1, 6-0). The first doubles team of Alyssa Gruhlke and Aubrey Kluding beat Makayla Ortmann and Allison Lee (6-0, 6-1). At second doubles, Chloe Hazelwood and Riley Helton beat Aubrea Branco and Lanei Williams (6-3, 6-0). In junior varsity matches, Norwalk went 7-0 in doubles play. Roxy Brummit and Abby Upton won (6-0) and were followed by Brooklyn Younce and Vanessa Vazquez (6-1); Nellie Ferguson and Lily Ware (6-0); Libby Lark and Grace Knight (6-0); Scarlet Schneider and Emmie Leber (6-2); Natalie Wiegel and Ella Borgeson (6-0); and Lily McDuffie and Natalie Morales (6-0). The Truckers will look to stay alone in first when they host Clyde on Thursday.
