Edison's Seville wins medalist honors

PORT CLINTON — Edison had four of the top nine scores to dominate an SBC Bay girls shootout Tuesday afternoon at the Catawba Island Club course. The Chargers won the nine-hole event with a 196. Margaretta was second at 216. Annabelle Seville shot a 40 to lead Edison and win medalist honors. Also scoring for the Chargers: Averi Wolf (51), Leah Sharp (52) and Ella Rogers (53). Willard finished third (236) and host Port Clinton tied Huron for fourth at 249. Vermilion shot a 252. Reese Bedingfield paced the Crimson Flashes with a 50, and Emma Whitright added a 56. BOYS GOLF Willard wins tight Bay shootout HURON TWP. — The Crimson Flashes edged Vermilion (165) and Margaretta (165) by shooting a 163 to win Tuesday's Bay Division shootout held at Thunderbird North's front nine. Edison (178), Huron (180) and Port Clinton (206) rounded out the field. Willard was led by Adler Ames with a 37. Mason Dawson shot a 40, and he was followed by a pair of 43s from Isaac Frye and JJ Bedingfield. Others to score for Willard included Kaleb Weaver (44) and Harrison Meisner (46). The Chargers were led by Hayden Lewis with a 39 and Owen Price with a 42. Weston Gfell had a 48 and Mason Hermes shot a 49. Also for Edison, Brooks Ballah shot a 52 and Tyler Pounds totaled a 54. Lexington 166, Norwalk 173 NORWALK — The Truckers were edged in a non-league match Tuesday at Eagle Creek. Cohen Shoop paced Norwalk with a 40. Jett Scheid shot a 43, while Emytt Graffice and Caleb Thompson each shot 45s. Also for Norwalk, Luke Metcalf added a 50 and Avery Reitzel had a 57. The Truckers host Buckeye Central Monday. BOYS SOCCER Edison 14, Northwood 0 MILAN — The Chargers scored nine times in the first half of a dominating win over the Rangers to improve to 1-2 overall Tuesday night. Joy Jordan led Edison with a hat trick (three goals). While Kailyn Dickman added two goals. Kellyn Ritchie, Sophie Baker, Gia Heater and Ellie Heater each scored once. Dickman also assisted on two goals, with Baker and Gia Heater each adding an assist as well. In the second half, Ilah Reynolds scored twice, while Mary Moon and Peyton Koch scored once. Edison hosts Woodmore at 7 p.m. Monday.
