Fair time nearly here

NORWALK — August is fair month in Huron County and this year promises to be a doozy. The county fair is the heart and soul of rural life, where generations come together to celebrate their shared traditions and build lasting memories, according to Bob Morgan, president of the Huron County Fair Board. "The fair is like a big family reunion," Morgan said. "People see guys they haven't seen all year at the fair." Setup for this year's event was fairly uneventful, according to Morgan, but he can't help but hope that the weather cooperates. "It's been so hot lately," Morgan said. "The rain we can deal with, but the heat makes people not want to come out to events." Huron County will host its fair beginning Aug. 11 and concluding on Aug. 16.
