Church festival this weekend

MONROEVILLE — Another summer activity is coming to the area in August with St. Joseph's Catholic Church announcing a two-day festival next weekend. The 65th annual St. Joseph Festival is slated to kick off this Saturday at Monroeville's Veterans Memorial Park with an "Adult's Night Out". Attendees can purchase traditional festival foods including burgers, brats, fried bologna, French fries and beverages, with live music provided by Paul Bogner, according to a news release. An amateur euchre tournament, a card game, is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. with registration running from 6-7:15 p.m. The event continues Sunday from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. with family-friendly events including a bounce house from 1-5 p.m. Additional attractions include: • A fishing pond • Quilt raffle • Bingo • Face painting • Fun foods; ice cream, lemonade, cotton candy, cake booth • Festival foods: burger, brats, French fries and drinks The church is also sponsoring a silent auction running all day, as well as a "1/4 beef raffle" and a "reverse raffle" beginning at 5 p.m. There will be a "jam session" from 1:30-4:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to "bring their instruments and voice", according to the release. Dinners will be available to purchase, including "Glenn's famous BBQ chicken" and "John's famous BBQ ribs" from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for eat in and 6 p.m. for carryout. Dinners are $14 for adults and $8 for kids, according to the release. Dinners also include: • Green beans • Cole slaw • Buttered noodles • Roll • Dessert
