Moving on up

NEW LONDON — Girl Scouts in the New London area participated in a Bridging Ceremony June 3 at the New London Grange Hall. The ceremony is for scouts moving up from one grade category to another. Daisies are in K-1, Brownies in 2-3, Juniors in 4-5, Cadets in 6-8, Seniors in 9-10 and Ambassadors in 11-12. During this ceremony six Brownies advanced to Juniors. They included Alivia Randleman, Raena Moberly, Riley Meggitt, Kaylee Stump, Winnie Fawcett and Lily Robuck. Their leaders are Lauren Anderson and Skylar Jewell. A group of 11 ambassadors moved symbolically into the adult world. They were Chelsea Covey, Anna Casey, Elizabeth Entler, Emma McCully, Made Harrison, Lily Clime, Neveah Johnson, Zori Immel, AshlynMitterling, Morgan Johnson and Taneil Wagaman. Their leaders are Shelley Suvar and Sarah Harrison. Scouts Anna Casey, Elizabeth Lamothe and Brooke Wuensch received their Service to Girl Scouting Bar for volunteering 20 hours or more to the organization. Kathie Overy, service unit director for New London, handed out several awards for leaders and adult helpers, starting with Amy Wuensch, who received an Appreciation pin for her service to the organization. The Outstanding Leader award went to Pam Wallhead, and Volunteer of Excellence awards went to Nancy Barnes and Shelley Suvar for their continual commitment to scouting. Overy received the Girl Scout North East Ohio award.
