A tiny plane, a winter storm and an inspirational memory | Norwalk Reflector There was a good "Blast From The Past" one day last week which excerpted stories from the January 26, 1963 edition of the Reflector-Herald. I really perked up when I saw the headline "E.J. Gerken is awarded Young Man of the Year honors." The award was presented by the Jaycees and cited Mr. Gerken's "efforts on behalf of better education…as well as his success in business." He was an amazing guy, and when he passed away 12 years ago I wrote the column that is re-printed here today.
