Celebrating 'Hometown Heroes'

NORWALK — The city will be hosting its annual "Hometown Hero Celebration" at Suhr Park this Friday. The event will begin at 6 p.m. and is open to community members of all ages. There is no charge for the event. The celebration is billed as a "heartfelt tribute to the individuals who have made a lasting impact on our hometown," according to Norwalk Mayor David Light. Huron County Chief Deputy David Ditz and others whose "service and leadership have left a lasting mark on the community" will be speaking at the event, according to a release. John Christopher will also share a "Special Family Tribute" to honor the legacy of his father. Food will be provided by the Marketside Grill food truck with the Second Base Duo providing the music, which Light described as "the perfect soundtrack for an evening of gratitude and community spirit." The release suggests attendees bring their lawn chairs, family and hometown pride to this celebration of those who "inspire, protect and serve our community every day."
