Edison starts strong in win over Seneca East

MILAN — The state-ranked Edison baseball team jumped out to a 6-0 lead after two innings in a 7-3 win over Seneca East in a non-league game Thursday. Edison — ranked No. 2 in the latest Division V state coaches poll — improved to 10-1 with the win over the Tigers (6-4). Cole Leimeister again paced the Chargers. He doubled with an RBI and went six innings for the pitching win. He allowed two earned runs on four hits with six strikeouts and three walks. Also for Edison, Bryson Wittmer hit a solo home run, while Chaz Smith doubled with an Rbi and Eli Hermes singled with an RBi. Tristian Wetherill added a triple. Edison hosts Upper Sandusky on Friday. Jake Fries went five innings and allowed an unearned run on four hits with eight strikeouts and no walks.
