Several local issues and two local Republican primaries are on the ballot for the May 6 election. Here is a breakdown of the local initiatives and primaries: Issues Norwalk Twp. renewal with increase tax levy for fire protection • Rate: 1.45 plus .3 = 1.75 mills for 5 years • Who votes on it: Norwalk Township North, Norwalk Township South, Norwalk Milan Township, Milan Village. Bellevue City Schools income tax renewal for current expenses • Rate: 0.5% for 10 years • Who votes on it: Bellevue City School District residents Plymouth Village renewal levy for operating & maintaining village cemetery • Rate: 1 mill for 5 years • Who votes on it: Plymouth village residents Willard replacement tax levy for recreational purposes at the municipal park and swimming pool • Rate: .5 mills for 5 years • Who votes on it: Willard wards 1-4 Huron County replacement and increase levy for the operation of community addiction & mental health services • Rate: 1 mill for 10 years • Who votes on it: All Huron County residents Plymouth village additional tax levy for police services &emsp;&emsp; • Rate: 2 mills for 5 years • Who votes on it: Plymouth Village residents Peru Twp. renewal with increase levy for fire, ambulance and EMS • Rate: 0.2 mills for 5 years • Who votes on it: Peru Township residents GGA Campground liquor option — Shall the sales of wine and mixed beverages be permitted on and off premises and sales be permitted on Sunday? • Who votes on it: Lyme Township residents Republican primaries • There is a Republican primary for Bellevue city council at large with four candidates running for three seats. The candidates are Joseph Burkhart, Adam Morrison, Beverly J. Ommert and Kendall C. Shepherd. • There is a Republican primary for Norwalk city council at large with five candidates running for four seats. The candidates are Jordan Duncan, Stephen E. Euton, Joseph Lindenberger, Sven Stahl and Samantha Wilhelm.
