New owners for medical practice

NORWALK —Three doctors, Dr. Amy Browne, Dr. Elyse Tinker and Dr. Rolland Rogers, recently purchased the building at 257 Benedict Avenue to continue their independent medical practice known as Northern Ohio Family Practice. The building has been home to several medical practices throughout the years, including obstetrics, gynecology and general surgery, before transitioning into a family practice clinic in 2002. It also employees three nurse practitioners — Maureen Jorden, Jennifer Hernandez and Ashley Klonk. Northern Ohio Family Practice treats patients of all ages, according to Louetta Sutton, practice administrator. Sutton wanted patients to understand that independent practices differ from practices linked to a hospital in that independent offices can refer patients to any provider, not only those in the contracted network. This allows patients to have more control over their specialists. "When you have a doctor who owns their practice and is not hired on three-year contracts, there is a continuity of care; you don't have doctors rotating every few years," Sutton said.
