Attention dog owners

Attention dog owners - the 2025 dog and kennel tag sale ends Friday, Jan. 31. All Dogs three months of age and older are required to be licensed. Application for Dog & Kennel License must be filed by Friday, January 31, 2025, to avoid a penalty. Continuing this year you will have the option to purchase a one (1) year, three (3) year, or permanentlicense. Fee for 1 (one) year is $22.00, Fee for 3 (three) year is $66.00, Fee for permanent is $220.00, fee forkennel license is $110.00. Owners should be aware that these longer-term licenses are not refundablein the event of the death of the animal or if the dog is passed to a new owner. Help the dogs at your local Huron County Dog Pound. Pay $27.00 per tag and receive a special shaped tagfor the 2025 tag year. The additional $5.00 received per tag will go towards the medical treatment of thedogs at the Huron County Dog Pound. A late penalty of an additional $22.00 per dog tag and $110.00 per kennel license will be charged whentags are purchased after the January 31, 2025 deadline. An additional $.75 application fee will be charged for each license purchased at area outposts other than theAuditor's Office, and a $.75 application fee will be charged for all applications completed through the mail. Kennel Licenses can only be purchased at the Huron County Auditor's Office. One-year licenses, three yearand permanent licenses can be renewed/purchased online for a convenience fee. Until Friday, Jan. 31, tags can be purchased at outposts. The outposts are Buck's Hardware, Greenwich; Bellevue Animal Hospital and York Animal Hospital, Bellevue; Gilbert Hardware, New London; Country Counter Market, North Fairfield; Huron County Auditor's Office, Huron County Dog Warden's Office, Huron County Humane Society, Norwalk; and Willard Fish and Game, Willard. Also issued was a reminder that dog tags must be worn on your dog's collar and dog tags must be purchased in the county your dog resides in.
