Leadership Huron County accepting nominations

Leadership Huron County (LHC) graduated a record 28 participants on December 12, 2024, and is now accepting applications for its 2025 program that will begin in April. The application window extends from January 20 through March 28. The county's premier adult leadership development program runs monthly from April through December and is open to anyone who lives and/or works in Huron County. Classes are typically held on the 2nd Thursday of each month from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. The "Leadership Exploration" component comprises the first four months and includes Mindful Leadership Training, the Clifton Strengths Assessment and Analysis; Personal Leadership Development Goal-Setting; Equine Experiential Leadership Training and a Huron County Road Rally. The "Leadership in Action" component features five meetings built around various themes that will take participants to all corners of the county, allowing them to interact with leaders in all walks of life and to tour a wide variety of sites, as well. Since 1997, the organization's mission has been "to ensure the continuing vitality of our community by providing for a planned and ongoing source of motivated leaders who are educated on the community and its issues and trained to accept future key roles in the Huron County Community." A principal goal of the program is for participants to visit all the communities in Huron County; hence, the monthly classes are never held in the same place twice. Participants interact with speakers from all walks of life and tour many different venues around the county. Many LHC participants are sponsored by their employers; however, any individual who wishes to develop his or her leadership ability is encouraged to apply. The groups are typically quite diverse and bring together people from all professions and vocations who might not otherwise interact. The relationships and the network that our participants build are among the many advantages of the program.
