New London celebrating Hometown Holidays Dec. 14

The holiday season is special for New London because for the month of December the village becomes WhoLondon and celebrates Hometown Holidays Saturday, Dec. 14. The event takes place in the downtown area from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with activities that make it, "a Christmas Celebration for all ages." The fire department presents a pancake breakfast from 7 to 9 a.m. at the station and the Christmas parade takes off at 10. It delivers the Grinch, Cindy Lou Who, Martha May, Ana, Elsa, and Olaf downtown, and the characters will then be available for meets and greets. The special guests, of course, are Santa and Mrs. Claus, who will visit with youngsters at Santa's WhoHouse in front of Gilbert's Hardware. Other special children's activities will include two large slides, face painting, a photo booth, a Christmas craft, a Christmas train ride and more. Adults can shop in the local businesses, check out the Christmas Shop at 2 East Main St. and enjoy sales, raffles and other specials. Each year the New London Community Club plans Hometown Holidays, which is sponsored by Fisher Titus and Sutton Bank. Events are free, and the whole family is invited to WhoLondon December 14 for the best Hometown Holidays ever!
