Edison dominates Bay Division teams

After the first perfect regular season in 43 years and a top five ranking in the final Associated Press poll, the Edison football team dominated the All-Sandusky Bay Conference Bay Division teams, released on Tuesday. Four players for the Chargers (11-0, 4-0) — ranked No. 4 in the final Div. V poll — were unanimous selections on both sides of the ball. That quartet was led by the Bay Division's Most Outstanding Performer, senior running back and linebacker Cy Finnen. In the regular season, Finnen ran for 760 yards and eight touchdowns on 119 attempts. At linebacker, he finished the regular season with 67 tackles, two sacks, forced one fumble and recovered one. Receiver and defensive back Davin Wendt is also a two-way unanimous selection. He caught 30 passes for 467 yards and 4 TDs and had 17 tackles on defense. On the interior lines, seniors Zach Rang and Lucas Langhals were both unanimous selections. Edison enters its second-round playoff game vs. Wooster Triway averaging 368.2 yards and 30.5 points per game. Rang had 45 tackles and three sacks in the regular season, while Langhals had 20 tackles and one sack. Also earning unanimous status on the first team was senior quarterback Abe Hermes. He was 56-of-98 passing for 927 yards with 8 TDs during the regular season while rushing for 543 yards and 6 TDs. Other first team choices on offense included junior running back Bryson Wittmer (745 yards, 12 TDs); senior tight end Malahki Hawkins; and senior center Jacob Kuhn. Junior Ryder Kramb was second team at guard on offense and linebacker on defense. Hermes and senior Grayson Smith were second team defensive backs, while junior Alex Davidson was second team at specialist. Smith was honorable mention at receiver, as was junior Tristian Wetherill at tackle and junior Cayden Clere at linebacker.
