Edison drama club announces fall plays

MILAN TWP. — The Edison High School Drama Club announces its upcoming fall production, "Sherlock, Sherlock, Sherlock." The night will include a trio of short mysteries, each featuring a different cast. Shows will be presented at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 14-16 in the Edison High School auditorium, 2603 Ohio 113 E., Milan. The evening features three Sherlock Holmes mysteries, originally written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and adapted for the stage by Jon Jory. Here's an excerpt of each production: • In "Six Napoleons," Sherlock Holmes and his friend and associate, Dr. Watson, team up with Scotland Yard's Inspector Lestrade to solve a murder and apprehend a man roaming London and smashing busts of Napoleon. This short features senior Caleb Johnson as Sherlock Holmes, senior Rory Conrad as Dr. Watson and senior Grace Anderson as Lestrade along with 11 additional supporting cast members. • In "Sherlock is Dead," Holmes is the target of a poisonous crime and seeks help from a tea merchant rather than his friend, Dr. Watson. This cast includes junior Tyler Pounds as Holmes, sophomore Dravyn Deleon as Dr. Watson, senior Ilah Reynolds as Mrs. Culverton Smith, freshman Becca Aguilar as Mary Watson and senior Kaira Gulet as Mrs. Hudson. • The final production, "The Hound of Baskervilles," is a classic Sherlock Holmes mystery about a nobleman who is threatened by a family curse on his newly inherited estate. Holmes is hired to investigate. Cast members include senior Ricky Oliver as Sherlock Holmes, sophomore Caitlyn Soelner as Dr. Watson and sophomore Alex Lamb as Sir Henry Baskerville. More than 40 students are involved on stage and off in the three shows, directed by veteran Edison Drama director Rex Stanforth and with technical direction by Amy Facemire and costumes by Sara Schwab and Laura Silkwood. All seating is general admission, and tickets are sold at the door beginning 45 minutes before the performance. Tickets are $7 for adults and $6 for students and senior citizens. Meanwhile, members of the drama club recently participated in a food collection drive. Participating members collected about 1,100 pounds of food for the Salvation Army Food Bank.
