Norwalk's Duncan, Edison's Seville earn top SBC honors

A pair of state qualifiers earned the top honor in the Sandusky Bay Conference Lake and Bay divisions for the 2024 girls golf season. Norwalk senior Kilee Duncan was the Most Outstanding Performer in the Lake, while Edison sophomore Annabelle Seville earned the honor in the Bay. The teams are decided by the points earned in each SBC Shootout match. The SBC tournament is worth twice the points as a shootout for the final tally. Duncan helped Norwalk to a third-place finish in the Lake, as the Truckers were just one point behind Perkins (17) for second place. She went on to qualify for the Division I state championships in Kettering on Oct. 14-15, becoming the first player in Norwalk's program history to do so. Seville was also a steady presence at the top of nearly every tournament or league match this season for the Chargers. She qualified for the Div. II state tournament held at Firestone Country Club in Akron. Also for Norwalk, junior Evelyn Welshenbach earned a spot on the second team, while Edison sophomore Leah Sharp and Willard junior Reese Bedingfield did the same in the Bay division. Also for Willard, junior Emma Whitright was honorable mention. Norwalk's Scheel first team Three area boys golfers earned first team All-SBC in their respective divisions in the Lake and Bay. Norwalk senior Avery Scheel was one of five on the first team in the Lake Division after leading the Truckers to a third-place finish in the competitive standings. Columbian won the league with 28 points, while Clyde (25) was second and Norwalk (22) finished third. Also for the Truckers, senior Stephen Lukac had the first spot on the second team, while classmate Dylan Pigman earned honorable mention. In the Bay Division, Willard tied for third in the team standings and put a pair of juniors on the first team in Adler Ames and Mason Dawson. Freshmen Kaleb Weaver and Jaxson Hall were both honorable mention.
