Freight House closed until further notice

NORWALK — A "closed-until-further-notice" sign has been posted on the entrance door of Norwalk's popular Freight House Pub and Grill restaurant. The sign apparently went up on Tuesday, according to reports. Restaurant owner Andrew Stroud has the restaurant and everything in it on the market for $1.4 million. He has owned the restaurant for about ten years. Stroud confirmed that the restaurant has closed but did not provide any additional information. "As of now, we are closed permanently until someone buys it," posted Samantha Rospert. "It's very sad news, but, yes, we have closed permanently until further notice." On Facebook, people expressed their dismay. "This is such sad news," posted Joni Rogers Blystone. "What about all the employees?" asked Stephanie Burke. "So all those devoted people are jobless with no notice? That's so wrong." In an interview with the Reflector a few weeks ago, Stroud said he was ready for a change. "It's just time for me to be done with it," Stroud said. "I've taken it as far as it can go, and I'm ready to do something different with my life." He also said that he had some interested potential buyers. The restaurant has about 20 employees, Stroud said.
