Man indicted on sex crimes against children

NORWALK — A man is facing felonies that could get him at least 60 months in prison for sex crimes committed against a minor. Aaron York, 29, of Norwalk, was indicted earlier this month on seven felony- and misdemeanor-level charges. The indictment included four counts of third-degree felony gross sexual imposition, one count of third-degree felony attempt to commit an offense, one count of domestic violence and one count of endangering children, both first-degree misdemeanors. York allegedly committed sex offenses against children over two years, from January 2021 to January 2023, according to the indictment filed in the Huron County Common Pleas Court. On Tuesday, York pleaded not guilty and was given a personal recognizance bond and a $50,000 cash bond. York is also not allowed to have any contact with the two victims or any person under the age of 18. York appears for pretrial again in November with a trial expected to begin in December. If convicted, each felony gross sexual imposition charge will carry up to a 60-month sentence and up to a 36-month sentence for the attempt to commit an offense.
