New officer sworn in

NORWALK — The city has a new police officer. Kinsey Dress was sworn in by Norwalk Mayor Dave Light at a ceremony on Wednesday afternoon at Norwalk City Hall. Attending the ceremony were lots of police officers, firefighters, city hall employees, and family and friends of Dress. Dress was the top academician in her police academy, which she attended at North Central State College in Mansfield. "We're extremely excited to have her," police Chief Scott Dahlgren said while introducing Dress. He said that Dress would immediately begin riding with other officers and then, "In a few months she'll be on her own." After she was sworn in, Dress thanked everyone for their support. In addition to going to the police academy at North Central State College, she also earned her associate degree there. Dress' girlfriend, Kate McNulty, pinned the badge on Dress at the end of the ceremony. Dress is from southern Huron County and is a 2019 graduate of Mapleton High School.
