Firelands Conference launches school spirit program

A group of staff members at Monroeville High School have created an initiative to promote school spirit at Firelands Conference sporting events this school year. The goal of the group is to bring more student spirit and participation to all of the FC sporting events. The Firelands Conference features eight member schools: Crestview, Mapleton, Monroeville, New London, Plymouth, South Central, St. Paul and Western Reserve. Each week, students will submit a video that will highlight their spirit from sporting events that week. Then, the power rankings committee — made up of representatives from each school — will watch the videos and rank the student sections. Every Friday morning, the rankings will be released on the group's social media pages on Facebook and X (formerly Twitter). At the end of each sports season, the school with the highest ranking will get the "FC Power Ranking" championship belt. At the end of the school year, the school with the most points total will keep the belt.
