Adelman named to Academic All-District team

TIFFIN — Scotty Adelman was named to the CSC Academic All-District team on June 12. The NCAA Division II pitcher for Tiffin University — which was selected by College Sports Communicators — made the team for a third straight year. Those players chosen recognized the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes baseball honorees in four divisions — Div. I, Div. II, Div. III and NAIA. A 2021 St. Paul graduate, Adelman was 2-4 with a 5.32 earned run average in 17 appearances (eight starts) for the Dragons in 2024. He struck out 43 batters in 47 1/3 innings for the Dragons, who went 26-25 overall and 18-14 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. In Tiffin's 3-2 win over Northwood in the GMAC tournament on May 8, Adelman threw five scoreless innings with four strikeouts and allowed four hits. This summer, Adelman is pitching for the Chillicothe Paints, who are looking to win a third straight summer collegiate Prospect League championship. In 2023, Adelman appeared in seven games for the Paints, where he was 2-0 with a 3.12 ERA. He struck out seven and walked four over his 8 2/3 innings. At St. Paul, Adelman was an All-Ohio first team selection in Division IV afer earning District 9 Player of the Year and Firelands Conference Pitcher of the Year. He helped the Flyers to three FC titles and three sectional titles during his three seasons of high school baseball (excluding the canceled 2020 season). Through June 14, Adelman has made three appearances for the paints. He is 1.0 with a 2.70 ERA. Adelman has allowed three earned runs on six hits with seven strikeouts and no walks in 10 innings.
