Zimmerman scholarship winners announced

The family of Kevin Zimmerman has selected two recipients for the Kevin Zimmerman Memorial 4-H Scholarship for 2024. The two recipients are Allyson Benesh and Lydia McQuillen. They each will receive $500.00. Allyson Benesh is a graduate of Western Reserve High School. She will be attending Ashland University. Allyson will be majoring in Supply Chain Management. Allyson is a past member of the Bronc Busters 4-H Club and currently is a member of the Silver Spurs 4-H Club. She has been a 4-H member for nine years. Lydia McQuillen is a graduate of Edison High School. She will be attending Siena Heights University in Adrian, Michigan. Lydia's major will be Math Education. Lydia is a member of the Ridgefield Country Kids and she has been a 4-Hmember for twelve years. This Memorial 4-H Scholarship is in honor of Kevin Zimmerman who passed away on August 10, 2011. Kevin became a 4-H advisor when he was 19 years old. He continued this role as an advisor for 43 years with the Hartland Progressive Farmers 4-H Club. Kevin always gave encouraging words to all 4-H kids he encountered, and he strived to help them make their best better.
