Funds raised for family

PORT CLINTON — A fundraising campaign is being organized for the family of a teen killed in a shooting. "We're starting this GoFundMe to try to ease the financial burden so that his mother can focus on grieving the devastating loss of their child," the fundraiser states. J'Vion Zimmerman, 18, of Port Clinton, was found in a Findlay alley with a gunshot wound to his chest last weekend. He succumbed to his injuries and Findlay police are still investigating the shooting. "J'Vion was known by everyone and full of life. He was just starting to figure out life as an adult and to bringing his own child into this world. A child that will now never get the chance to meet their father," Skylar Norman, the fundraiser's organizer, wrote. Zimmerman is survived by his mother Melissa and a younger sister and more extended family. The fundraiser was established Tuesday and has raised $1,200 of their $10,000 goal.
