Here are the June events at Norwalk Public Library: In-person registration is required for all programs marked with an asterisk. Registration for June programming begins June 3rd. The Cotton Candy Lady of Ohio on June 3rd from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm: For all ages. Sign up for Summer Reading between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm to receive free cotton candy. Pressed Flowers Art on June 4th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Enrichment Centers for Huron County: Arrange and seal pressed flowers on canvas. Note this event takes place at 130 Shady Lane and interested individuals must call 419-668-6245 to register. *Dungeons & Dragons Club on June 8th and June 22nd from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm: For 6th through 12th grades. Embark on a quest in a fantasy realm where your fate depends on the roll of the dice and the only limit is your imagination. Players of any skill level are welcome. *Garden Camp on June 10th from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm: For kindergarten through 5th grades. Build a butterfly house, decorate a miniature elevated garden, and plant herbs. Next Stop, The Twilight Zone on June 11th from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm: Dr. Charles Coletta with the BGSU Department of Popular Culture discusses the cultural impact and history of TheTwilight Zone. *Roller Coaster Tycoons on June 12th from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm: For 6th through 8th grades. Design a theme park and make a model of it, then construct your park's feature coaster for a marble run. Exotic Zoo on June 13th from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Sofios Park: For all ages. The zoo is coming to you! Join the Exotic Zoo for an Exotic Show featuring these real live animals: • Alligator • Arctic Fox• Giant Python• Giant Tortoise• Honey Bear• Lemur• Monkey• Porcupine• Siberian Lynx *Board Game Bonanza on June 13th from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm: Get an introduction to Ticket to Ride from local gamer, Bobbi Provenzale. Though two copies of the game will be available to play, attendees are welcome to bring their own. Market on Main on June 14th and June 28th from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm: Visit the library during Market on Main to lounge on our Main Floor, which will be open until 8:00 pm, and participate in the following activities: 6/14 - Dance floor and pet rocks for kids; unfinished craft swap for adults6/28 - Oobleck (slime) for kids; Take & Make Seed Bombs for adults Silent Book Club on June 15th from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm: For this club, Bring Your Own Book (BYOB) to discuss it with fellow readers, then read silently together. After an hour, everyone is welcome to chat more about their books. PJ StoryTime on June 17th from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm: For all ages. Complete a scavenger hunt, craft glow in the dark stars, and read bedtime stories, all while wearing your coolest pajamas. Adult Book Club on June 18th from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm: Read Attachments by Rainbow Rowell. Books are available at our Main Desk. *Snow Cone Showdown on June 18th from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm: For kindergarten through 5th grades. Smash ice, mix flavors, and choose a combination of toppings to make the perfect snow cone. One chef's creation will win the Golden Cone. *Kindergarten Readiness Camp: Animal ABC's on June 20th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am or 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm: For kids entering kindergarten in August. Practice fine and gross motor skills as we explore letter matching, play rhyming games, rainbow write, and shape letters with Play-Doh. *Lavender Paintings on June 24th from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm: Paint lavender flowers on canvas using Q-tips and skewers. *Nailed It! on June 25th from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm: For 6th through 8th grades. After recreating a classic taco based solely on taste, try to one up it with your own blend of ingredients and seasonings. Juggling & Magic on June 26th from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm: For all ages. Professor Tony can balance a Jenga set on his face, juggle seven balls at once, and spin a bunch of bowls in the air. See this comedian/magician in action at his 2024 show: Mysteries and Marvels. Lawn StoryTime on June 27th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am: For ages 0-5. Julie and Justin partner read their favorite stories. Plus, color with sidewalk chalk and pop giant bubbles. *Yoga at the Library on June 27th from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm: PT Patty, owner of Integrated Therapeutic Healing, instructs an hour-long yoga class under our stained-glass dome. *Park Day on June 28th from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Sofios Park: For kindergarten through 5th grades. It's a water battle. Prepare for squirt gun competitions and water balloon games.
