Norwalk tennis edged by 14-1 Huron

HURON — The Norwalk boys tennis team pushed host Huron in a narrow non-league defeat on Wednesday at Fabens Park. At first singles, Jason Lenczyk won for the Tigers (14-1) over Eli Kluding (6-1, 6-3). Norwalk (4-10) got the win at second singles, as Devyn Emmons beat Nolan Stockard (6-4, 6-4), while third singles saw Huron's Peter Cencer defeat Evan Minor (6-1, 6-1). At first doubles, Huron's Mason Schindley and Nick Walls topped Drew Thomas and Ethan Brown (6-1, 7-5). At second doubles, Norwalk got the win as Ronnie Freeman III and Edward Ramos Cruz topped Michael Findley and Caleb Holmes (3-6, 6-2, 11-9). "We made a few changes in the lineup tonight and gave some people some different experience against a good Huron team," Norwalk head coach Eric Mozina said. In junior varsity matches, Henry Daiga and Abe Buie split two sets (0-6, 6-2), while Talen Young and Allen Upton fell, 6-3. The Truckers will host Tiffin Columbian in an SBC Lake Division match on Thursday before entertaining Ashland on Friday.
