Meet the authors

NORWALK — Do you want to meet an author? How about four of them? That's exactly what you can do at an upcoming Northern Ohio Writers Guild program. It happens from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at Schild's IGA, 171 Milan Ave. It's free and open to the public and signed copies of authors' books will be available for purchase. Here's who you will get to meet: Ron Rude and his wife Karen have lived in the Sandusky area for the past 35 years since he came to serve as the executive director of the Firelands Chapter of the American Red Cross. Since retiring, Ron has spent his time gardening, volunteering and writing. "Daddy Good" is his first effort in publishing. The book is available on Amaon and at Cold Creek Coffee House in Castalia. "Daddy Good" is a bit of a thriller as well as a study in facing fear, healing, conscientious objection, forgiveness and loving the unlovable. If you need encouragement, you will find it in this book. Flora Church writes under the pen names Emma Charles (historical fiction and historical suspense), and L.F. Chiesa (middle grade, YA, and adult fantasy). Flora discovered in the fifth grade that she could use words to create magic. In sixth grade, she discovered the world of archeology and anthropology. Her fascination with the past is reflected in the stories she writes. She lives on Ohio's North Coast with a menagerie cats and one elderly dog. Emilia Rosa spent her childhood in Rio de Janeiro. She has always been fascinated with words and studied French, Spanish and Italian. Rosa worked in international trade shows in a multilingual capacity, and as a fashion model in Brazil, Italy, and the United States. Before turning to fiction, she had poetry published and won a library poetry contest. Her love of history and knowledge of Rio de Janeiro decided the time frame and setting of her first novel, which was taken to the sequel. She is doing research and writing the third sequel, which will take readers to the south of Brazil. Readers can contact her via Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Goodreads. P.J. Grondin, a U.S. Navy submarine veteran, is the author of eight suspense novels. His most recent release, "Flash Drive," features Peden Savage, a former FBI agent and private investigator. Savage is recruited by his former FBI supervisor to assist in the investigation of the murder of a prominent U.S. senator. You will find this book hard to put down.
