Triple murder suspect gets prison

NORWALK — A county judge on Tuesday sentenced Greenwich resident Zachary Boster to 40 years to life in prison after pleading guilty to one count of aggravated murder and one count of murder. Boster, 26, of Greenwich, was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for one count of aggravated murder and 15 years to life in prison on one count of murder. He had been charged after stabbing to death Brandi Chong Thorton, 31, her unborn child, and her son, Juelz Bryant, 13, on Sept. 3, 2022 in Willard. By pleading guilty, Boster avoided the death penalty. Prosecutor James Joel Sitterly had said he would seek the death penalty in the case. Boster had faced six counts of aggravated murder, two counts of aggravated burglary, two counts of burglary, one count of tampering with evidence, and two misdemeanor charges of child endangering. On Sept. 3, 2022, Willard police were called to a home in the 1000 block of S. Myrtle Ave., for a disturbance, according to a new release from the department. "Officers arrived and were alerted by family members of two deceased persons inside the residence," according to the release. Boster and Thornton were described as "romantically involved," during his September 2022 arraignment. It was also disclosed that a five-year-old child witnessed the slayings but was not physically harmed.
